Rollins making friends in Philly

In case you missed it, underachieving Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins appeared on the Best Damn Sports Show Period on Wednesday and called Philadelphia fans front runners.

Rollins has a point, but just about any athlete can make that claim. It is probably not a good idea, though, to make it on national TV, especially if you play in Philadelphia and you have been awful this season.

Rollins has been nowhere near the player he was last season. If he was anything close to that the Phillies would be running away with the NL East instead of being tied with the Mets. Not to mention he has already been called out publicly for showing up late to games.

Something tells me J-Roll might hear a different reception at Citizens Bank Park when his team returns from their West Coast road trip.

But then again, he and teammate Ryan Howard did gave us this little gem earlier in the year.
