Agent: Maddux will probably retire

It appears as if the illustrious career of right-hander Greg Maddux may be coming to an end. Scott Boras, Maddux' agent, told the New York Post that the future Hall of Famer will probably retire at some point this winter.

"He hasn't made a final decision, but for now it is doubtful he will play [any longer]," his agent, Scott Boras, said.

This year, the 42-year-old hurler went 8-13 with a 4.22 ERA in 33 combined starts for the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers, while enduring a a career-long 14-start winless streak.

For his career, Maddux, a four-time Cy Young Award winner has a record of 353-222 with an ERA of 3.14.
