Wagner gone for at least a year

The news is about as bad as it gets for the Mets. Closer Billy Wagner, who had a setback in his rehab assignment on Sunday, reportedly has an MCL tear in his left elbow and could miss up to a year.

I guess K-Rod will have a new suitor this offseason.

Wagner has likely pitched his last game for the Mets. The team signed him to a four-year, $43 million contract before the 2006 season. The club holds a $10 million option on his contract for 2010.
