The Florida Marlins will be without Scott Proctor for the remainder of the year, as the right-handed reliever has opted for season-ending Tommy John surgery.
Proctor signed a one-year, $750,000 free agent contract with the Marlins this offseason, but never threw a pitch for them in either spring training or the regular season.
He was 2-0 with a 6.05 ERA in 41 games for the Dodgers last season. He also spent 2 1/2 months on the disabled list a year ago and had surgery in October to repair a partially torn flexor tendon in his right elbow.
