The New York Yankees are expected to place catcher Jorge Posada on the 15-day disabled list with a hamstring strain.
After having never been to the DL in the first 13 years of his career, Posada now finds himself there for the third time since the start of last season following two stints a year ago. Of course, the 37-year-old backstop missed most of last season with a shoulder injury that eventually required surgery.
Posada was hitting .312 with five homers and 20 RBI in 23 games this season.
No word on who will replace him.
