Can the Mariners be this year's Rays?

Everyone and their mother wrote a column this offseason on who would be this year's version of last year's version of the Tampa Bay Rays. I guess it is my turn. But I have a month in the books in my back pocket to give me a nice head start.

With all due respect to the Toronto Blue Jays, the Seattle Mariners are my pick. Why? Well for one the Blue Jays play in the ultra-competitive AL East and have yet to play a game in their division. And two, the Mariners are in the West where the Angels are struggling to keep players on the active roster.

Whatever it is just a hunch. So check it out.
