Brewers keep Cameron around

The Milwaukee Brewers have exercised their 2009 club option on outfielder Mike Cameron.

BREWERS EXERCISE CLUB OPTION FOR MIKE CAMERON

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers today exercised the 2009 club option for outfielder Mike Cameron. The announcement was made by Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Melvin.

Cameron, 35, batted .243 with 25 HR, 70 RBI and 17 stolen bases in 120 games during his first season with the Brewers. He made 119 starts, all in center field, and committed only one error the entire year. He finished just three stolen bases short of his sixth career 20/20 season.
